Vegas Odds To Win Indy 500
The odds, picks, and projections for the 2020 Indy 500 have been released. The race takes place this Sunday, August 23. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and will be streaming on the NBC Sports app. The green flag will drop at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Alonso’s Odds Will Shorten. Fernando Alonso has reunited with McLaren to make an attempt at the Indy 500. Alonso is a two-time Formula One champion and he’ll now have to do his best at the 104 th Indianapolis 500. He’s still a bit of a longshot since Arrow McLaren Racing SP runs two other full-time drivers in Pato O’Ward and Oliver Askew but they’ve added a third car for Brickyard. It remains a four-way tie atop the odds to win the 2019 Indianapolis 500, with Will Power joining Josef Newgarden, Alexander Rossi, and Simon Pagenaud as +800 co-favorites. The Indy 500 has produced eight different winners in the last eight years, and oddsmakers are projecting another anything-can-happen race, as 17 of the 33 drivers in the field are at 25-1 or lower.
Marco Andretti, representing the third generation of the Andretti family, starts from the pole position. He’ll look to become the first Andretti to win the Indy 500 since his grandfather, racing legend Mario Andretti, did so in 1969.
Five-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon enters the race as the series points leader after racking up three consecutive wins to open the 2020 season. Dixon, who has finished no worse than fifth in five of the season’s six races, is one of eight past Indy 500 winners in this year’s field.
